Description : The Courtyard has been converted from early Victorian cowsheds into six luxury bedrooms and a family suite. All are en-suite with tea/coffee making facilities, t.v and radio. The family suite has separate bedrooms for parents and children. All are on the ground floor and two of the bedrooms are category one for wheelchair users. The dining room and reception are also on the ground floor and are easily accessible for wheelchairs.

Situated in the south of the Derbyshire Dales in a tranquil location yet within minutes away from Dovedale and many more of the beautiful dales. We are also near many of the large houses such as Chatsworth, Calke Abbey, Sudbury hall, and Haddon Hall, to name but a few. For the more adventurous there is Alton Towers, just a short drive away (8 miles) also the American Adventure approximately 1 hours drive. There is so much to do and see it is just impossible to describe it all. Sorry we are unable to accept pets and smokers. Michael and Charlotte Harris offers you a warm and friendly welcome.

Country Landowners Association Award Winner
Bed and Breakfast Scheme Wins Award

A farmer who swapped milking cows for making beds and cooking breakfasts has won commendation in scheme designed to encourage excellence in rural architecture.

Michael Harris gave up farming last year and reinvested the proceeds from his farm sale into former cowsheds into high quality bed and breakfast accommodation. Old brick and tile sheds have been converted into bedrooms AND THE FORMER MILKING AREA HAS BEEN TURNED INTO a large dining room for guests.

The scheme at Dairy House Farm, Alkmonton, Longford, near Ashbourne has been commended in the Country Landowners, Association''s Farm and Country Buildings Awards.

Judges like the CARE and ENTHUSIASM for the internal arrangements and décor of each of the seven bedrooms and the IMPRESSIVE quality of the craftsmanship in the window and door joinery. They were also impressed by inclusion of disabled facilities that provide two units with the capacity to accommodate independent wheelchair users.
